brain health FOR UBC ADOLESCENTS

We strongly believe that to provide support to the adolescents at UBC; the first year students, or those under 19, we must first split brain health into its components. By providing support both biologically and psychologically, we do what other clubs cannot.

What do we do?

mENTAL HEALTH

We strive to make a difference in improving freshman mental health by:

  • Reducing stigma towards neurological disorders that affect mental health

  • Provide strategies for students to maintain emotional wellbeing

  • Acting as a community for first-year students when they are in need of social support

  • Hosting talks to spread awareness on the prevalent issue of steadily decreasing mental health in students.

NEUROLOGICAL HEALTH

As well, we strongly believe that neurological health is also important, which is why, in addition we will also focus on:

  • Emphasizing the importance of physical brain health in conjunction with mental health.

  • Reminding students during the stressful times mid-term that they must also put focus on keeping themselves healthy.

  • Providing support in physical brain health, unlike other organizations.
